Oral
The next mode of communication, which I utilized during the semester, was “Oral.” Oral communication is an essential
part of any sort of academic interest. Dating back to the BC, when many myths, stories, and even scientific discoveries were conceived, people have found oral communication indispensible. The two oral components of my portfolio are the
"Twilight Mania" presentation and my Final Project presentation. In order to prepare for my oral presentations, I looked for help on google. I came across a nice video which can help make oral presentations more effective. I also visited Commlab located at Communication Center of Georgia Tech for some tips.

"Twilight Mania" Oral Presentation
"The oral presentation that accompanied the Twilight Mania" presentation was an analytical presentation highlighting the key points from the paper and, in my case, the effects of the novel Twilight on audiences, readers, and critics. It was important for me to be eloquent and vibrant in my speech. Many times, I endeavored to emulate the reactions of the “crazy Twilighters” and I ensured that my speech be very emotional and rich. I made it a point not to be dull in my presentation. One of my biggest issues in oral presentations is that I speak quickly. I aimed to rectify this by practicing my presentation beforehand, trying to slow down my speech while still maintaining the efficiency and eloquence in the presentation. I had a visual component on Prezi to assist me in this presentation.

Final Project Oral Presentation
My final project presentation was on the evolution of courtship, specifically male conduct in courtship. This was an informative and analytical presentation as well, and it was important to highlight key points on the evolution of male courtship. I looked at courtship in the 1800s, courtship in the 1900s, and modern courtship, and tried to creatively meld the three together to look at comparisons and contrasts. This presentation was more carefully planned on my part and , I had a visual component on Prezi to assist me in the presentation. Detailed reflection on this oral presentation can be found here
