"Words are sacred. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones, in the right order, you can nudge the world a little" -Tom Stoppard
Welcome to my English 1102 Assignment Portfolio. English 1102 at Georgia Institute of Technology is all about multimodal communication. The course covers five methods of communication – written, oral, visual, electronic, and nonverbal (a.k.a. WOVEN) and how it can be used to produce effective communication. As explained in the course syllabus, one of the main tools for gaining the insight in to the components of effective multimodal communication is interpretation – interpretation of the information communicated by the self and of the information communicated by others. This sort of interpretation and manipulation of multimodal messages drives the narratives that make up fictional texts. In this semester we focused on various fictional texts, movies and commercial campaigns about courtship and love.
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our professor, Dr. Lauren Holt, for making this class enjoyable and providing me valuable feedback on my WOVEN communication skills. I will endeavor to take the constuctive feedback I have received through the semester in a positive manner and will improve as a communicator.
