Final Project : Written Paper
The written paper of my final project was titled as "An Exploration into the Mannerisms of Courtship Practiced by Men in the 18th and 19th centuries and their reflections today". In this paper, I analyzed the evolution of courtship as it progressed
from the 1800s to the modern world. This project was truly a learning experience for me. Not only did I begin to understand the many intricacies that were involved in courting a woman, I also began to realize how the seeds of many traditions that exist today were planted hundreds of years ago. I learned how an idea is intangible and constantly evolving and many brilliant ideas today were conceived thousands of years ago. However, I made a few mistakes in writing this paper that I will definitely grow and improve on. First of all, I was supposed to use three novels that we had studied this year in my analysis. I overlooked that part of the instruction which did not yield the desired result. Secondly, in the structure of my paper, I displayed many important points, which may have been sound had I not built them upon assumptions. I cannot assume anything for sure about my audience and I should write as such. The peer review model we used for this assignment was very helpful. I hope to grow from the learning experiences I got from this assignment and improve these aspects of my writing as I move forward.
